Gail A. Grynbaum RN PhD
I am a certified Jungian Analyst, licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, and specialize in individual psychodynamic, body-oriented psychotherapy. I've been in private practice in San Francisco for over 30 years.
I graduated with a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) and later got certified as an analyst by the CG Jung Institute of San Francisco. I am on the Institute's teaching faculty and am a member of the Board of Governors.
In addition, I have trained with Jungian Analyst, Marion Woodman for over 25 years and am a faculty member with the Marion Woodman Foundation (MWF.) I have been actively involved with the Foundation, teaching, serving on the Governing Board and a variety of Committees. I completed the MWF BodySoul Rhythms® Leadership Training Program.
I am a member of the International Association for Analytical Psychology, CG Jung Institute of San Francisco, International Association for the Study of Dreams, Sand play Therapists of America, Association of Professionals Treating Eating Disorders and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
I am passionate about working with people in the search for meaning and wholeness in their lives. I have a deep interest in working with the issues of Perfection and Brokenness, embodiment, symptom as metaphor, and Children of Holocaust survivors. Skills and experience in dream work, trauma, sand play, addiction, alchemy and neuroscience all enhance my clinical work. My writing has been published in various Jungian Journals.
